Crocus is a leading developer of MRAM technology for dense, nonvolatile, high-speed, scalable chip solutions for general and special purpose applications. Crocus will offer high-density MRAM chips that target a wide variety of storage, networking, telecommunication, cloud computing and hand-held applications, plus specific uses in smartcards, biometric authentication, near-field communications (NFC) and secure memory. With operations in Grenoble, France and Sunnyvale, California, the company’s MRAM innovation originated in the Grenoble-based Spintec laboratory, a world-leading R&D center in Spintronics. It has developed thermally-assisted magnetic switching, and has a patent license agreement with IBM.
’The participation of Crocus technology in M3d has two purposes. The first aspect is technical, that of providing guidance for a quick implementation of test structures for TAS writing. The second aspect is to provide an advisory view to be used by the other partners of the consortium for determining in detail their IP policy.
